Woke this morning to the sound of thunder, how far off I laid and wondered…..   It was 5:55 am and I got up to put our chairs inside the Casita door.  About 2 minutes after I got them in it started to rain.  It didn’t rain long.  Jim used our bucket and dumped our gray water in the pit toilet this morning. The sun came out and we went on a 2 mile hike at the campground through a pine and birch tree forest.

After we got back, Jim wanted to go to down the dune cliff to the beach, so we took our chairs, books and a beer.  Jim went in but I just waded.  He said it was cold to begin with but then it was really nice. We went back up to the Casita about 6:00 pm and had dinner and then went to the Ranger Rick talk at the amphitheatre at 7:00 for a program about trees.  We had a campfire after Ranger Rick’s program with the firewood the campers before us left.  We watched the sunset again and drank the other half of the bottle of wine from Kim and Steve.  There was a haze in the distance on the lake today.  The storm that brought us rain this morning caused a wild fire in Canada and the smoke is on the horizon.  It also caused a fire near Munising where we just left.
