July 3, 2012

We had to move today because the trailer park was booked up.  We drove to the Northern Lights Casino on the other side of town and will stay there.  They only have 20 amp hookups but it runs our air conditioner (barely).  We have everything else unplugged.  It is free to stay here when you get one of their player cards.  Then you need to gamble for a while.

I needed a few items from the grocery store and Jim drove me.  The grocery store was a madhouse.  I think all the people who came to the lake for the 4th of July were in the store.  We only had 17 items and the lady in front of us had $453.28 worth of groceries in two carts.  All registers were open and nearly everyone had a cart full of groceries.

We found 3 geocaches today. One of them was labeled as being in a micro cache.  This means it is a really small container.  Usually it only holds the log for you to sign and you have to use your own pen.  The comments on this cache were really good.  One said it made them laugh so hard when they found it.  It was a micro wave oven in the middle of the woods attached to a tree stump with an ammo box inside.  This truly was a micro cache.  (Mary Grace you would have liked this one.) The next one we found we deposited the Willie Winker travel bug that we picked up about a week ago.

We went back to the Casita and played our phase 10 dice game.  Then Jim went to the casino and played penny slots.  To keep from heating up the Casita, we had a good salad and crackers, cheese and salami for supper.  We will try to stay here tomorrow even if Jim has to play some more slots.  All of the campgrounds in the area are booked solid for the holiday.  We made a reservation for a site at International Falls for Thursday.  This will be next to the Canadian border.

At 8:45 pm we drove to town to see if we could see the sun setting on the lake.  We walked out on the Walker City dock.  There were boats still going out and the sunset was really pretty.  On the way back we stopped and had a beer at an outside bar across the highway from the Casino.  We talked to the locals at the bar.

Happy 4th of July to everyone and we hope you have a really great day tomorrow doing what ever makes you happy!
