We got up early to do a couple of loads of laundry this morning.  We went over to the laundry room about 8:45 last night and it had closed at 7:00.  We drove to St. Ignace today and got a site at the Kewadin Casino.  We are just north of the Mackinaw Bridge on Lake Huron.  The casino is free and has water and electric hook ups.  They gave us $10 of free money to play in the casino and a free hotdog.  They also gave us a card key that will get us into the inside pool, hot tub and gym.

It is raining today and it is 62 degrees.  We decided to go the Marquette Museum Park and Museum of Ojibwa Culture. The building that houses the culture museum was originally a Catholic Church.  It was built in 1837.  This is one of the oldest known historical sites in Michigan.  Father Marquette lived here with Huron Indians in the late 1600s.  His grave is on the grounds.

After leaving the museum we drove around town and visited a boardwalk with a lighthouse on it and watched the ferries coming and going to Mackinack Island.  We went to the VFW and had a beer.  Then we went to the Galley Restaurant and had some whitefish, French fries and coleslaw.  We also had some sautéed whitefish livers with onions. I don’t like liver and these livers were surprisingly good.  I fixed us some strawberry shortcakes while we watched TV.  Jim went into the casino to gamble some of the free credit we were given.
